Amanda Smith, LMFT
Amanda believes that the healthcare industry chose her. She has always been good at listening and compassionate, with wisdom above and beyond her years. She has encountered many different people throughout her personal life who treated her as if she was their therapist, even in high school. She feels like this profession chose her.
Amanda’s philosophy to treatment is that “hurt people, hurt people”. It may sound redundant, but it speaks volumes to people in crisis. Amanda believes it is important to assist people with exploring how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. She encourages a therapeutic atmosphere to help the hurt individual(s) reveal the truth about their pain by exploring the source, identifying the distortions and the dysfunctional ways the person interacts with others. Then collaboratively develop solutions and renewing minds to change the way they think, feel, and behave. She believes that healing is a collaborative effort.
Amanda is pleasant and when meeting her you will be greeted by a warm and comforting presence. She is very knowledgeable on many topics and has a wonderful sense of humor which usually shows up after a few minutes in conversation.
