Katarina Guinaldo, AMFT
Katarina chose to pursue a career in clinical psychology and therapy because she values the life stories and experiences of others. She believes that we can all benefit from being listened to as well as feeling heard and understood, and she wants to hold a space for people to experience both. Katarina believes that human connection fosters safety and security which then enables opportunities for self-growth and healing.
Katarina believes that the best therapeutic environment starts with a trustworthy connection between therapist and client. Developing comfortability and safety within the therapeutic space enables vulnerability, thus leading to a path of growth and healing. These components establish a strong foundation for self-exploration and desired change.
Katarina has experience working with a variety of presenting problems but especially enjoys working with children, young adults, and adult women.
When working with Katarina, people can expect to be welcomed with a warm smile, curiosity and compassion. Her philosophy is that it is important that each individual that steps into a therapeutic space feels comfortable, understood and validated.
Katarina wants to make sure that the therapeutic relationship provides a level of comfort in which clients trust enough to naturally share what is on their mind, fostering self-growth and healing.
