Rehana Baker, M.A.
Rehana was born and raised in Claremont, CA and is the youngest of 6. She was raised by a single mother who struggled to access the resources she needed to care for her family. As a result, Rehana chose to pursue a career in psychology to provide support and resources to other families in need and to inspire others to believe in themselves despite the many challenges that life can bring. She brings 9 years of clinical experience to the table as both a psychological assistant and an AMFT intern.
Stylistically, Rehana is an eclectic therapist that is able to utilize many diverse treatment approaches. She is particularly skilled with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and the Solution Focused model. Rehana has particular interests in providing in depth therapy to foster youth, DCFS families, Post Adoption families, individuals struggling with grief and loss, couples facing separation/divorce, individuals experiencing grief and loss, clients struggling with illnesses, as well as crisis intervention. Rehana is especially sensitive working with cross cultural clients, and recognizes the value of cultural competency firsthand, being both Sri Lankan and Portuguese. She is currently a Psy.D student with an expected graduation of Fall 2021. Rehana is a CA board registered Psychological Assistant (PSB94025763) and is currently working under Dr. Dustin Arnold’s license (CA 30264).
When you meet with Rehana for the first time, you can expect her to provide a warm and inviting environment. She goes out of her way for her clients and is known to be creative with her interventions. Rehana is a believer in providing a safe, non judgmental space for her clients in order to change, grow, and heal.
