Valeria Serban, MD PhD
Valeria has always found it amazing how the human brain functions and it’s due to that, she committed herself to a career in clinical medicine and research. She was intrigued by how a thought is generated in one’s grayish matter and it is that same jelly-like substance that stunningly then somehow defines who we are. Those thoughts, speech, plans, memories, feelings, all originate in our brain, an enigmatic and mysterious machinery…there is nothing like it.
Valeria’s medical career focused on studying the brain and understanding the connections to the body. She feels it is her greatest privilege to help patients get better. Valeria has dual degrees, MD, PhD, and allowing her a combined perspective. She completed her residency at Temple University Hospital and her fellowship at Harvard-Massachusetts General Hospital. She is boarded by both the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and committed to excellence in every aspect of her work.
