Zoe Ingelse, AMFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Zoe became a therapist because she has a passion for supporting and guiding individuals as they move towards healing and re-connecting with their true and accurate selves. She believes that therapy can be a beautiful and powerful tool. Zoe’s philosophy is “as human beings, we experience a variety of feelings and emotions, when it starts to feel like we are disconnected from ourselves and those around us, it is normal to need that additional support and guidance”. Zoe feels honored to be able to provide that for those with whom she works.

Zoe has an integrative, holistic approach to treatment and therapy through a trauma-informed lens. She believes that the mind and body are deeply connected, and she helps people to experience a congruent connection with their bodies to process experiences, thoughts, emotions and feelings. Zoe uses various therapeutic techniques, including mindfulness-based techniques, inner child work, attachment-oriented therapies, and somatic work to help individuals build awareness around unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors, to help reconnect with their true selves, and move towards a healthier life.

Zoe has experience working with chronically ill individuals and their families. She has worked with adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of physical and mental illness with the goal of working towards a shift in identity, healthier relationships with one’s self and others. Her goal is to decrease feelings of hopelessness, anger, stress, anxiety, and depression; utilizing her clinical experience, specializing in work with individuals who are facing high levels of stress and anxiety. Zoe knows it can be difficult to find a sense of balance within our lives, however, finding this balance can be an important key to feeling a decrease in levels of stress and overall wellness. Through her extensive work with Cancer patients and their families, she has found a passion for working with individuals suffering grief and loss. She knows how difficult it is to navigate these heavy feelings and emotions and this experience can look different for everyone.

Zoe believes in the importance of creating a calm and comfortable environment where individuals feel safe, seen and heard. When you first meet with her, she wants to take time to get to know who you are as a human being, what your goals and aspirations are and what makes your heart thump. She knows the therapeutic relationship is an important part of an individual’s journey towards health. It is her wish to develop a secure therapeutic relationship that will allow her to support the people with whom she works, while also challenging them and making movement towards a healthier life.
